W3 Autonomous Car

So far my view hasn’t changed based off of what I’ve learned. It’s only given me more insight into how autonomous cars work and function. As well as how they’re viewed from multiple perspectives. There’s the developers and those who want them, and people that are against the AI controlled car. The ones who are making it, are trying to make it safe, while looking at the bigger picture. They don’t want it to cause problems later down the line, when it becomes too big to contain, but they also don’t want to limit themselves too much just because of that fear. Meanwhile some of the general public is afraid of the cars. The AI isn’t a perfected technology, it has made mistakes that has resulted in the loss of lives. The cars are made without brakes, wheel, etc., which means that there’s no human interaction. Which is another reason for their fear, since the people in the car have no control over the car. There are plenty of variables for the AI to consider, so the people developing it have to make it be able to identify any potential problems for the car and the people in the car. Some cities have already implemented driverless cars, so it will be interesting to see how that develops in the future. As long as developers continue testing the cars and can practice safely, I think that AI cars will come to be in the near future.
